One of the most obvious benefits is insulation.  Double glazing acts as a shield to reduce heat loss over regular glazing.

Double glazing can take a couple of different forms.  Generally speaking double glazing is two pieces of glass with either a space in between or a layer of special plastic.

Sound & noise reduction is another advantage of laminated glass or double glazing.  Homes that get a lot of road noise can benefit greatly from this product.

Laminated glass & Double glazing also add security to your home or business. This type of glass is more difficult to break, and it doesn’t shatter like other glass.

The layer of plastic in between makes the glass very difficult to break through, and requires many attempts with an object like a large hammer or axe to break through the glass.

In the trade we call this glass “obscure” and while we stock most varieties, there are some patterns of obscure glass that are now no longer made by the manufacturers.
